The Kachinwaves’ goal is to build a free and justice society by strengthening robust democratic institutions and good practices in Myanmar”. Its objectives are to increase the transparency and accountability of the State government, report on economic, social, political and military issues in Kachin State and empower citizens with the necessary analytical tools. Certainly, Kachinwaves is a pioneer Kachin State based media agency. It was formed in May 2012 with a group of people who were passionate in protection and promotion of human rights and democracy using media means. Kachinwaves became a registered online news media agency in October 2016. Kachinwaves have educated basic media literacy around Kachin State.
